After the recent Government COVID announcement, our stewards now effectively become welcomers.
From Monday 19th July 2021, most COVID restictions are lifted. We must still insist on taking your name and phone number for track and trace details and not allowing people to come to mass who have symptoms or who have been in close contact with anyone who tests positive for COVID or who have tested positive themselves.
There is no longer any requirement for social distancing.
However, I STRONGLY recommend we wear masks, and practice good, frequent cleanliness; which means hand sanitising on entry and exit as well as for myself and any servers during mass.
There will be no one way system any more – we are relying on your good sense and awareness of others around you.
If anyone is particularly nervous, we could possibly seat you in the side aisles. Otherwise please find your own seat and be aware of those around you.
We will continue to keep the front 2 rows for those less mobile when it comes to receiving communion – which will continue to be given in one kind for the foreseeable future.
Congregational singing is allowed but only with the wearing of masks.
Our masks and good, regular cleanliness/personal hygiene – and common sense – are now our protection!
At present, there is still NO Sunday obligation. Weekday masses are almost always quieter and less attended.
